Tagg can now recognize and import any files containing existing metadata such as photos, music tracks and office documents. For Windows users with an NTFS file system, Tagg can also import metadata from the Summary Information ADS stream.
You can specify which particular drives should be scanned during the import process via the settings dialog.
Once imported, Tagg can detect any changes made to this metadata outside of Tagg and automatically synchronize the active database.
Supported Metadata:
EXIF/IPTC - Imports photographic related metadata from jpg image files including Timestamp, Make,Model,Exposure,Seq Num,F Number
XMP - Imports XMP metadata attached to jpg image files.
MP3 - Imports Artist, Track title, Track Number, Album title, Year Released
ADS - Imports Alternative Data Stream metadata stored in NTFS file system.
MSOffice - Imports SummaryInformation and DocumentSummaryInformation including Title, Keywords, Subject, Author, Comments, Pagecount
Tagg can now detect operating system events such as the moving or renaming of a file and automatically synchronize the active database.
With the new Multi-View display results are split horizontally into 2 sections - the first section lists all music, office and data files, the second section renders thumbnails of any image files found.
Saved Searches are now stored in the database rather than the configuration file, the benefit of this is that any database backups you do will now contain the saved searches. It also means that when working with multiple databases you will only see the saved searches relevant to the active database.
The process of adding tags to files has been updated to make it easier and faster, you can now simply type in a comma separated list of tags and click save.
Intellisense has also been added which pops up a menu containing tags matching the current text entered.
A new panel has also been added which displays any existing tags associated with the file(s).
A new tab called 'Imported Metadata' has been added to display any embedded metadata found in the physical file(s).
'Send To' Windows explorer menu now contains an entry for Tagg
You can now launch Tagg with the 'Send To..' windows explorer menu command, Tagg will launch with the file(s) automatically selected for you, you can then add some tags and click save.
The Tag Cloud display has been updated to make it easier to read, also fixed an issue with scrollbars not appearing when zoom used.
To facilitate better shared database support, you can now tell Tagg where to look for it's tag structures making it possible to share structures as well as databases.
Various minor bug fixes.
